Wanderlust 3

On scouring the interweb one very late night, I happened to spend a considerable amount of time oogling my new travelling interest; Germany. As I searched the obvious main cities like Hamburg and Munich, I stumbled across a quaint city which goes by the name of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. A place that seems small and relatively unknown but at the same time able to pack a punch? - it grabbed my attention immediately.

A medieval city encapsulated by its original walls it offers visitors a true taste of rural German living. Steep hills and winding cobbled roads compliment the aesthetics of the buildings and people in a way that makes it seem like something from a film set. Personally, I would love to visit this beautiful place during the winter season. Situated on the 'Romantic Road' I can truly see why Rothenburg ob der Tauber has a reputation of being idyllic and a place which must ensue much loving inspiration in an individual.

It has definitely shot to a very high place on my visit soon list.
ps - maybe this is why I am yearning to travel here during the Christmas season;

Wanderlust 2

Moscow

After recently watching An Idiot Abroad 2 and seeing Karl wandering through Moscow before boarding the trans Siberian railway, it got me thinking how much I want to visit Russia - and more specifically Moscow. I've been intriged by Russian architecture for a few years now. To me they look so beautiful they seem edible...

I think it just looks like the most magical place. Although hearing some stories of what goes on there does niggle in the back of my mind, but nothing will stop me wanting to go & experience the amazing buildings for myself. Plus, just look at their university:

Wanderlust; 1

Over the past 2 years I have been really craving to travel as much as possible. But with minimal pennies to splurge on, I have yet to have my mind broadened by the sights and sounds of the rest of the world. Being one of my main motivations to earn money (along with paying rent and buying food), travel is something that has been on my mind nonstop. From TV programmes to hearing friends and family talk about their experiences has got my adventure juices flowing.

Throughout the course of this blog, I aim to list as many different places that are on my list of 'want to visit'. Instalment 1 features a place which I have been swooning over for at least a year now;

Berlin

Having already acquired a slight obsession with German culture, Berlin is at the top of my list of places to visit. From the beautiful architecture of daytime to the dark, unknown territories that the night brings - I am determined to travel here within the next year.

Fresh start

I have been on tumblr for a couple of years now and I have never really treated it like a blog - I used it more so to depict my taste via pictures. But seeing as I am always visiting intriguing blogs on this site I thought I may as well give it a go! There will more than likely be no structure to my blog and I'm not sure how attached I will become to it, but an outlet to express my feelings and views I can only see as being a healthy hobby. Being an English Literature student I love writing and one day hope that I might be able to make a living out of it, so in the name of practise...here we go!
